About Us
In 1981, my mother was diagnosed with terminal brain and breast cancer. Her doctors told me she had to be placed in a nursing home. As a working mom with two children, ages 2 and 3, I didn't know what to do. I decided to take a leave from work and care for her at my home and be with my children.
Upon the death of my mother I received a call from a neighbor who worked for Social Services, who asked if I had ever thought about adult foster care.
The concept was new and my neighbor explained his wife had an aunt they were relocating from Florida and she could live with me if my home were to become licensed.
That's how it all began. My home was licensed and now 25 years later, we continue to be the best senior care home in Livingston County.
Through the years I have acquired three other homes, all in the Parshallville area. Each home has something different to offer. Our clients are all senior citizens and they range from basic supervision to hospice care.
It's ironic that my mother, Helen Patton, was a registered nurse and always wanted to own her own nursing home. This business began because of her.
Caring for the elderly has also provided me with something every mother hopes for. My children, now 27 and 28, have developed a strong sense of compassion and empathy through this business.
Our journey has not only been a family affair, it has been a community event.
